Exploring Life Beyond My Comfort Zone

Iam Loren Dredy Sales, I came from Poblacion, Tadian, Mountain Province. Iam a proud daughter of Portia Sales and Daryl Sales. I have two younger siblings, Dredan and Dreonne. We grew up with our grandparents by our side, so we are very close to them.

I somehow like exploring things. When I was in grade 3, I joined the journalism staff as a news reporter in radio broadcasting. Our venue was in Paracelis, Mountain Province, which was very far from home. I remember how funny it was that I cried and called my parents to fetch me because I was homesick. When I reached grade 5, I managed to join the regional level in column writing. During that time, Ienjoyed the trip and finally overcame homesickness. 🙌✍️

Aside from journalism, I also tried playing table tennis. Although l was not the best, I enjoyed playing it. I also often asked my parents for art materials, even though I was not artistic at all-I simply enjoyed exploring new things. 🏓🎨

When I was in grade 6, something unexpected happened. I lost my grandfather, and it broke me so hard. He was supposed to march me up the stage during my graduation, but he didn’t make it. Still, I used that pain as inspiration to do better. 💫🎖️

In junior high, I studied at Holy Rosary High School. There, I found my true friends who made those years the happiest. We were ten in the group: Hazille, Leny, Lexiane, Neslyn, Val, Raven, Zif, Hendrick, Sthan Lee, and me. Being with them felt like home.

I got to experience joining cultural dance competitions, pageants, and, of course, Christian living formation as it was a Catholic school. Until now, I honestly want to go back, but as they say, success doesn’t come from your comfort zone. So now that I am studying in TSAT, I am doing my best to cope and I already enjoy my section’s company.

My life may not be perfect, and sometimes I face downfalls, but I still manage to get back up. l am lucky to have my family, who taught us to always be open to one another, and my friends, whom | consider my second family. Even now, though we no longer study at the same school, we still reach out and meet up whenever we are free.
