2025 Intramural Experience🤍

The 2025 Intramural experience was one of the most memorable events of my school life, and it started with the exciting division of all the students into six strong and vibrant teams: Lam-ang, Wigan, Lumawig, Anno, Banna, and Gatan. Each team carried not only a name but also a sense of pride, unity, and determination that made the whole event more alive and meaningful. On the first day, everyone was filled with enthusiasm as we officially opened the intramural games through an exhibition event and the traditional lighting of the torch. That moment felt so symbolic because the flame represented not just the start of the games but also the burning spirit of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and friendly competition within the school. As I watched and participated, I realized that intramurals were not simply about competing for medals or trophies but about discovering our potential, creating stronger bonds with our classmates, and building self-confidence through teamwork and shared experiences.

On the second day, I found myself facing a new challenge when I decided to join the Sepak Takraw girls’ team. At first, I was nervous and unsure of what to expect because it was a sport I was not fully confident in, but I reminded myself that intramurals are about trying new things and having the courage to step outside my comfort zone. What made the experience even more exciting and emotional was the fact that our match was against Team Lam-ang, where many of my close friends belonged. Playing against them gave me mixed emotions: I was happy because we were all sharing the same passion for sports, but I was also nervous because I didn’t want to disappoint my team or lose against my friends. The atmosphere during the game was filled with cheers, laughter, and encouragement from both sides, and it reminded me that no matter what team we were in, we were all still one family united by school spirit.

When the game finally started, every move, every serve, and every kick mattered. At first, I honestly thought we had little chance of winning because Team Lam-ang was strong and competitive. Still, as the match went on, I saw how my teammates and I worked together, supported one another, and played with determination. That teamwork gave me strength and confidence I never thought I had. To my surprise, we managed to overcome our doubts and play our hearts out until the very last point. In the end, we won the game, and the victory felt so surreal. I couldn’t believe it because I truly did not expect that outcome, especially against friends whom I respected and admired for their skills.

Winning that match was more than just about the score—it was about proving to myself and to my teammates that anything is possible when you give your best, trust each other, and never give up. It also made me realize that intramurals are not simply about competition but about lessons that we can carry in life: courage, confidence, resilience, and sportsmanship. The cheers, the laughter, and even the nervousness during the game all turned into wonderful memories that I will treasure. Even though we competed against our friends, in the end, we all celebrated together, showing that the real essence of the intramural is unity and respect for one another. This experience taught me that victories are sweeter when shared with people you value, and sometimes the best moments happen when you least expect them. Truly, the 2025 Intramural was not only about games and trophies but also about unforgettable friendships, valuable lessons, and the discovery of strengths we never knew we had.
