🏐 Intramurals: A Weekend of Wins, Losses, and Sunburns ☀️ Hey everyone, Alexie here! 👋 I want to share my recent experience with our school’s intramurals at TSAT. While it was a bit rushed—only two days long—it was still a memorable weekend full of ups and downs. The Rush and the Parade🤦♀️ Waking up at 5 a.m. on the first day, I was full of anticipation for the parade. Of course, I did what most people do: scrolled on my phone until I realized I was late! A frantic 30 minutes of getting ready later, I was out the door. The parade itself was a great way to start the day, getting everyone’s energy up and showing off our team spirit. Afterward, it was time for the cheer competition. While our team secured third place, I felt I didn’t give it my all. Standing in the middle of the line, I wasn’t as comfortable as I could’ve been, but I was still proud of what we accomplished.
The Volleyball Court 🤩 Next up was my volleyball match. I rushed home with my friends to change, ready to hit the court. Unfortunately, my team lost. It was a single-elimination tournament, so our journey was over almost as soon as it began. I can’t say I was sad, though. From the beginning, I knew I hadn’t prepared enough, and to be honest, I just didn’t click with my teammates. We were all a bit nervous and pressured, but they’re still great players. After our loss, I stayed to cheer on my friends in their respective events, which was a blast. Time really flew by! By 5 or 6 p.m., my friends and I were ready to relax. We went to a nearby cafe to chat and unwind, heading home around 7.
☀️A Day of Spectating and Sunburn☀️ Day two was a bit more chill for me. Since my team was already out, I woke up later, around 7:30 a.m., and went to the venue to watch the games. The most exciting part was when I got roped into being a ball picker for the boys’ volleyball championship. It was not fun at all! The sun was relentless, and I felt like I was literally being fried. I handed the job off to someone else as soon as I could, preferring to enjoy the games from the sidelines. Lunchtime rolled around, and we headed back to the same cafe for more food and conversation. Afterward, we tried to watch the basketball game at MPSU, but a sudden downpour postponed it. It was a bit of a letdown, but we ended up watching the combatives instead, which was surprisingly entertaining.
Overall, this year’s intramurals were probably the most rushed ones I’ve ever experienced. But even though we didn’t have a cheer dance competition and the games felt a bit chaotic, I still made some great memories and got to spend quality time with my friends. It’s not always about winning, right? Sometimes, it’s just about showing up and having fun. ✨🤘
